It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2
It is human nature to pursue knowledge. Yea, we find ourselves generation after generation seeking more and more to obtain that knowledge and truth which has escaped our forefathers. It is, therefore, the glory of God to shroud His heavenly perspective in a mystery. To know all and see all is not for humankind. He knows our frame (Psalm 103:14-16). We then, being children, must trust in our Father who carefully guides us along life’s path. He goes before us (Deut 31:8), he comes behind us (Is 52:12), and he walks with us (Micah 6:8), all with intention to gently lead us closer to Him.
God has also reserved spiritual things for the spiritual man, this is why the natural man cannot discern the things of the spirit (1 Corinthians 2:9-14). For this same reason, Jesus spoke in parables carefully hiding the things of the Spirit from those who were not seeking to know God. He knew these men had their own agendas in mind when they asked him questions so his responses were intended to confound the skeptics.
Hebrews 11:6 tells us “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Our Heavenly Father invites us to walk by faith, not by sight. It is pleasing to God for us to seek to know Him and understand His ways. He doesn’t promise to reward those who know and understand all (for those men do not exist, except being convinced in their own minds); instead, he rewards those that diligently seek him. You do not have to know all today, you need only to draw near in faith. (Hebrews 10:22)
Yielding Prayer:
“Father, I accept the truth that you know all, see all, and are in all. I humbly come before you and yield my way to you today. I cannot see what is ahead except you reveal it, so I choose to rest in your love, patience, kindness, and protection for this day. I accept your invitation today to walk by faith and I choose to humbly seek you with my whole heart. Please have your way in me, do your work in me, and make me more like you.”

I often reference specific passages of scripture while I am writing, these references regularly follow a summation of a thought or a paraphrase of a verse. They are not intended to be quotes as such. I simply record the words and phrases the Lord brings to my mind and include references to passages he seemed to compare them to or remind me of in that vein of thought.
