It is the mercy of God to reveal our weaknesses, for he reveals them not to shame us, but to offer us the opportunity for healing. God is silent when we are not yet ready to receive the revelation. It is human nature to be willingly ignorant of our shortcomings, yet God is merciful to restore to us a living hope when we come to him in our need (1 Peter 1:3).
While we walk on earth, we will never arrive at perfection or completion. But God stands ready and willing to bestow his mercy on us to heal us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. He is Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals us (Exodus 15:26). It is easy to find comfort in complacency, accepting the known (even though it’s not that good) out of fear for the unknown. Others exist in denial, refusing to acknowledge that there is anything in their lives that needs to be healed.
There is an invitation today to experience more healing and go deeper with the Lord than you ever have before. Your Heavenly Father wants you to be healed, it is His will. He wants to cleanse and heal your wounds, remove your grief, dry your eyes, and restore you to walk in strength (Isaiah 35:3). Our God honors the prayer of faith, so pray this morning believing not just that God could heal, but that He will. He loves you.
Yielding Prayer:
Father, would you please reveal an area of my life where I am wounded and in need of healing? (Pause and let him show you.) Father, please bring healing to this wound. I am broken, (Psalm 147:3) and I choose today to receive your healing. Jesus, where I am still carrying a burden, I release that to you, choosing to give up my yoke for yours. (Matthew 11:28-30) Thank you for being my burden bearer. Father, I know that there is more healing to come, and I humbly ask you to both reveal my brokenness and then heal what you reveal.
Perfect timing! I needed this today.
Me too!
